A charming pair of Pokuri or Okabo , a high wooden clog worn by young girls and Maiko. This pair has bells set deep within the soles, that ring in walking.
This pair is from the Meji / Taiko era, early 20th century.
They are showing signs of age with chips and minor scratches to the lacquer. The tatami tops are good, but the silk brocade of the straps are degraded.
