A very fine suzahiki from the Taisho period.
This was a geiko piece and is of the finest work. Yuzen dyed with many silk embroidered highlights. It has a pattern of a garden seen through the mist. It is a finely figured silk with lightly padded sleeve openings and hems.
The pattern continues around the lower part inside the kimono as well. The primary lining is of fine red silk habotai. There is a secondary fine chiramon lining which is attached at the upper body inside. The secondary lining has a few stains on the edges as seen in the photographs. There is also a slight stain on the upper right front pattern. It is normal for Maiko and Geiko pieces to be stained, due to their use. The left hand back panel has a colour difference in the black dye.
